K is for Kinetic

Continuing with the theme of blogging the alphabet, we're now at the letter K.  So, today is brought to you by the letter K and the word Kinetic.  Kinetic is an adjective that is pertaining to motion, caused by motion, or characterized by movement.  I've made a small collection of Etsy artists' listings that are kinetic and listed them below.  Enjoy!

First, here are some items from my Etsy shop, BeaOtch.

Don't you just love the way these strands simulate movement and orbits?  I do!

J is for Jade

Oh, my!  Sadly, I've been neglecting my blog.  Let's get to it!

Continuing with the theme of blogging the alphabet, here we are at the letter J.  J is for jade.  Jade is a beautiful stone of many shades that has been used for both utilitarian and ornamental purposes throughout history.  Here I will focus on the ornamental.

Here are a few of the listings I've made that showcase jade.  For these pieces, I've used olive jade.

Below you'll find listings from other wonderful Etsy artists that use jade in their works.

There are tons of jade listings on Etsy, and I've just scratched the surface.  Take a look around for more here:  Jade Search on Etsy.  Please feel free to leave a comment in the section below for this listing or ideas for a K listing.  Thank you for reading.  See you next time!

Intertwine, Intermingle, Intermix

I'm continuing to blog the alphabet, and today we're at the letter I.  I is for intermingle, intertwine, and intermix.  Let's see fun, sometimes disparate elements coexist in the same piece.

Here's one of my listings that intermixes hard and soft, fabric and chain, and the masculine and feminine.

Here's another necklace from my Etsy shop that intertwines the hard and soft.  In this case, it is felted wool balls and brass chain.

Here are listings from other Etsy artists that intermix, intertwine, and intermingle....

This skull intermingles both the bright and the dark.  We wouldn't have this bright, colorful piece without the death of the majestic animal.

Here we have a lovely landscape encased in beeswax peeking through wood that used to be a barn.  We have all of these disparate elements intermingling in one piece.

Here's a listing that takes pieces from a vintage clock radio and turns it into jewelry...  intermixing the functional and practical turns pretty and fun.

Monster Mash intertwines classic characters into one crazy-scary super monster!

Here's a listing that intermingles the old and the new.... vintage feel with new technology.

This bracelet intertwines the complementary colors orange and blue.

This has been fun to scratch the surface of those listings that intermingle, intertwine, and intermix.  I hope you've enjoyed it, too.  Feel free to leave a comment on this entry or ideas for the J entry in the comments section.  Thank you for reading!  You can also find me at beaotch.com, on Facebook at facebook.com/beaotch, and on Twitter at twitter.com/bea_otch.

H is for Horticulture

So, we're blogging the alphabet and today is the H entry.  H is for Horticulture.  Horticulture is the science of plant cultivation, and it's the perfect topic for summertime.  Below you'll find some great horticultural listings from Etsy artists.

First up are three listings that I made with beautiful flowers.

Here are some plant and plant-inspired listings from other Etsy artists...

First, let's start with some plants and seeds.

Next are planters for those beautiful plants.

These next listings are items for the planters or garden for identifying plants.

These final listings are art pieces that are inspired by horticulture.

This has been a fun listing to write and compile.  I love summertime plants and vegetables.  Who doesn't like eating fresh from the garden or farmer's market?  Or being surrounded by gorgeous plants?  Get out there and enjoy the summer sunshine and the green growth around you!

Thank you for taking a moment to read my blog.  Please feel free to leave a comment about this blog post or a suggestion for future letter entries in the comments section below.

G is for Girly

I'm continuing to blog the alphabet and today is the letter G.  G is for Girly.

We'll start off with one of my one of my necklaces.  It's girly because it's so pretty!

This is another necklace that I made and it's pretty, too.  This one is girly because it's pretty but also because it's off kilter.  You know a woman who is keeping the balance of the family, work, and home.  Everything is a little off kilter, but she keeps it aligned anyway...  and all while looking lovely.

Below you'll find items by other wonderful Etsy artists that are girly in their own ways.

It's girly to be proud of your spouse, your spouse's profession, and want to show your pride.  Just like the picture below, this shirt is for the gal who loves being a Fire Wife.  :)

It's girly to want nice, fragrant, flowery soaps.

And it's girly to want nice-smelling locks, too.

It's girly to be into makeup, especially vegan mineral makeup.

It's girly to be addicted to lip balm/gloss/stick, too.
